Fundamentals of Ranch Roping

This clinic is for anyone who has wanted to learn more about ranch roping, get a better handle on their roping skills and learn the etiquette that is required when at a ranch during branding time.

Ranch roping is more than picking up a rope and catching something.  Students will learn the basic shots needed to be helpful when roping cattle.  Emphasis will be placed on all aspects of building a loop, swing, delivery, and shots that can be thrown.  Participants can expect to learn no less than two head and heel shots as well as handling cattle, helping other ropers set up a throw and horsemanship for roping.  Students will work together to learn all what is needed to make oneself a useful member of the ground crew and how to assist horseback ropers.

Cattle are required for this clinic.  Roping dummies will also be used for from the ground and saddle practice prior to working with live cattle.
