Oregon Foundation Quarter Horse Show and Futurity
Boring, Oregon - Sept 2006
In September Matt flew to Oregon to show in the OFQHC Futurity with Nina owned by Rose and Thomas Goodlett who had him also show "Rosita" in the in hand classes. Sue and Roger Clark of Redmond, Ore. asked if Matt would show their stallion "Mateo" in a couple of classes. The show was a lot of fun and the weekend was over before it began. Trail classes ran from 9 am to 9 pm. When the dust settled, Matt had won the 3 y/o Futurity with Nina and placed in Open and Novice Trail Horse, as well as, Ranch Trail. He took two 4ths in 2 y/o in hand and 2 y/o in hand Futurity respectively with Rosita With Mateo he was able to earn trail points in Novice Trail Horse with a 2nd and two 3rds and placed in Ranch Trail with Mateo as well.

RC Saddle/Robert Chavez Versatility Clinic
Tehachapi, California - June 2006
This summer we held a small clinic at our good friend Robert Chavez place. We invited a hand full of people and before we could finish spreading the word the spots were filled. This clinic was a little different because Matt had everyone riding all day long and we had some nice cattle to work. Participants worked on reining skills, as well as, cow work. The cow work portion included one-on-one cow and herd work.
Here are a few miscellaneous fun pictures that don't fit anywhere in particular

A "Starlight" is born 4/11/05
In 2004 Matt bred his Doc's Hotrodder mare to a Hollywood Jac grandson and got Starlight (The name was Emily's idea). Since she is not Grays Starlight breeding we needed a better registered name, thus we named her Jac E Hotrodder. We sold "Gracie" (The mare) but are glad that we kept the baby. Matt looks forward to riding her in the spring of her 2 y/o year.
