BVS Horsemans Association Show #1 Tehachapi, California June 3, 2007 After not competing since last fall, we took many of our students to their very first show. It was a good show to get the jitters out and work on presentation. All in all we brought home some ribbons and Matt was able to place 1st and win $300 in the Trail class with Rosita. (Rosita is the horse that he is preparing for the OFQHC Trail Futurity in Eugene, Oregon this August.) We showed in showmanship, country pleasure, western pleasure, western equitation, reining and trail.
BVS Horsemans Association Show #2 Tehachapi, California July 1, 2007 Show #2 was by far a great day for everyone. "Team Sheridan" did really well and all of our riders came home with a ribbon. Joanne Wesley took Western High Point for the day and $100, Melanie Kykal won trail and $300, Katie McCullough took 2nd in trail and $150 and Matt brought up the rear with 3rd and $50, also in trail. Overall we won over a dozen 1st - 3rd place ribbons in 9 classes, with 8 horses and 6 riders. Sorry there aren't more pics. I guess everyone was too busy grooming or warming up horses! |

These are Emily's show off pictures so they won't be replaced any time soon. - "The Dad"
Emily helped Matt train on Festus this summer for Joan Leaman. She was responsible for catching, brushing, saddling, bridling and riding Festus outside for trail rides. "Em" has also gone on scouting trips to look at 2 year old prospects this summer with dad. Last of all, if Emily keeps swinging a rope she will be giving her dad some "clinics" soon!

Coyote Creek Ranch
Winnemucca, Nevada - July 2006
This summer we went up to visit our friend Mackey Hedges and to pick up a new Border Collie pup for Matt's dad. While there, Matt was able to help with some horses and test ride Mocha, a mustang, for the then upcoming Wild Horse And Burro Expo in Reno. As a side trip we made our way up to Unionville. It is a mining town that was started during the Civil War by some Confederates that came west. Prior to being called Unionville it was known as Dixie.

Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo
Reno, Nevada - August 2006
This year Matt was invited to Reno to restart a six year old three strikes mustang gelding. Over the three days he was able to get him saddled, ridden and rope off of. The pictures taken outside are from the second day of the Expo. While there, Matt was interviewed by Rick Lamb for The Horse Show radio program. Never before have we seen so many nice looking and well made wild horses in one place.
